Gina Calvillo resides in Chula Vista California where she was born and raised. She loves writing children’s books she has a passion for inspiring others. She has worked as a medical assistant instructor and currently works in the field of law-enforcement, collecting evidence. She is a CPR instructor and loves helping others – she donates her time during the Christmas season as Mrs. clause and delivers gifts to children and adults with cancer. She has faced many obstacles during her journey but says that it’s made her a stronger person. She believes that you can create great possibilities for your life regardless of the circumstances. Determination and hard work are the keys to success.
Daniel H. Young was honorably discharged with Good Conduct Medal from the United States Navy. Daniel was trained in all major disciplines of hospital and outpatient care. Specializing in Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit draws. Daniel was also picked by the Navy to be trained in their inception of the U.S. Naval paramedic program. Daniel has worked in many hospitals and clinics throughout San Diego County perfecting his craft. Daniel believes that a well rounded phlebotomist possesses great technical skills and people skills, the perfect blend of science and humanity which is a vital link in the chain of sustaining a healthy and productive partnership in this industry. Daniel is looking forward to teaching eager young minds in the Phlebotomy Specialist program to give them a solid foundation for success!
Steven is a San Diego native. He has worked for both the San Diego county sheriffs’ and Police departments for five years performing DUI and toxicology specimen collection. He has worked full time at Kaiser Permanente for 23 years and Scripps clinic Green Hospital Torrey Pines part time for 15years. He has 2 1/2 years of Phlebotomy instruction experience and currently holds a 98% instructor passing rate with the NHA. Steven has been active in a local Union representing CPT/Laboratory Assistants for 23 years. Steven is a hard draw and pediatric specialist along with specializing in customer service. He is excited about bringing his real world experience to his students and looks forward to having you in his future classes.
