Steven Baker

CPTII, Phlebotomy instructor, Senior Laboratory Assistant ll, EKG Technician Instructor

Steven is a San Diego native. He has worked for both the San Diego county sheriffs’ and Police departments for five years performing DUI and toxicology specimen collection. He has worked full time at Kaiser Permanente for 23 years and Scripps clinic Green Hospital Torrey Pines part time for 15years.  He has 2 1/2 years of Phlebotomy instruction experience and currently holds a 98% instructor passing rate with the NHA. Steven has been active in a local Union representing CPT/Laboratory Assistants for 23 years. Steven is a hard draw and pediatric specialist along with specializing in customer service. He is excited about bringing his real world experience to his students and looks forward to having you in his future classes.

David Cato

Mr. Cato started a new career in phlebotomy in 2010 after a short retirement from a 35-year career in Information Technology. He enjoys teaching hands-on skills, reading and playing with his grandchildren.

Mr. “C” has been employed in phlebotomy as a law enforcement (DUI) specimen collector, Paramed Insurance Examiner and as a Subcontractor on UC-SanDiego research and UC-Irvine student health projects. And, began teaching with P.T.S. in 2020.

Ashley Sullivan

Ashley is a Navy spouse who has traveled all over the country with her husband, Nathan. Together they have five children, four girls, and one son. Ashley is currently attending Grossmont College in the hopes to obtain to transfer to a university for a Bachelors in Nursing. Ashley started her phlebotomy career in the beginning of 2013. She is certified through the California Department of Public Health. Ashley has worked with all kinds of patients across many departments however she has a passion for the ER and mental health. She has experience in multiple areas of phlebotomy ranging from mobile phlebotomy to clinic and hospital settings and private phlebotomy stations. Outside of work you can find Ashley on the fields coaching the next generation of cheerleaders. She is a hockey, dance, and cheer mom. She loves playing fetch and going on long walks with her two German Shepard dogs Bear and Artemis. Ashley is excited to have you in her class to share her passion for phlebotomy with you.
