Merrianna brings over 20 years of teaching experience to the Phlebotomy Training Specialists team. Her extensive background in the field of clinical research has allowed her to become an efficient, detail-oriented phlebotomist and lab technician. Certified in 2006, Merrianna is a phlebotomist who emphasizes compassion and professionalism to her students. When she is not teaching phlebotomy, she tutors elementary students in reading and enjoys her two grandchildren.
Ryan Gilbert is an instructor and phlebotomist in Clackamas Oregon. With over 11 years of experience in venipuncture and specimen processing Ryan has a passion for phlebotomy. He started his career at Doernbechers Childrens hospital where he spent 6 years perfecting his skills. Ryan provides real life scenarios while teaching and loves instructing students on how to perform proper venipuncture in the most challenging situations.
Susan Holmes is a talented phlebotomist with a strong technical background in laboratory environments and expertise in obtaining specimens, multidisciplinary rehabilitation, and positive interactions with patients. Holding a Bachelor of Science in Biology, Susan has been a presenter at the McNair Research Conference and the OHSU NW Undergraduate Conference. She has dealt with over 30,000 patient draws and has never had a patient ID error. Susan excels at working with people and seeks to put them at ease throughout their visit. Outside of work and teaching she enjoys sewing, hiking and camping. She also loves working for the Special Olympics in Washington County as a Youth Basketball Coach where she helped the team take gold 2 years in a row.
