Certified Phlebotomy Technicians, also known as venipuncture technicians or phlebotomists, are an essential part of the medical field. Phlebotomists draw blood from your veins so your doctor can monitor or diagnose medical conditions. Blood and other specimens are also collected by phlebotomists for research purposes, plasma and blood donations, and in hospitals for transfusions. Phlebotomists are indispensable healthcare professionals that must undergo rigorous training to perform their duties.
